Overview: What a privilege it is to teach children about God and his wondrous love! Each year we offer twelve key Bible stories to bring God's Word to young children. Each month's lessons include a variety of child-friendly learning experiences to help children understand what God's Word means for them and how it relates to their lives.

The Faith Lesson offered each month is organized into five flexible lessons that you may use as you wish. You may decide to cover one lesson per day or one per week. The activities relate to one of the themes, special days, or holidays in the FirefliesĀ® (3-5 year) monthly curriculum.

Lessons begin with an introduction to prepare the children for the Bible story. This is a simple and fun way to get the children thinking about how the story may relate to their lives.

You can download and print full color props to use as you tell each story. The style of the props will vary from month to month and may include stick puppets, stand-up pieces, and more. These help children visualize the story.

Each month's activities refer to a Story Treasure. Collect these monthly props and place them in a box decorated like a Treasure Chest. You may wish to have the children help you decorate a box to look like a treasure chest so you can use it throughout the year.

The Bible Story for this month is about how God created everything, including Adam and Eve. The story treasure this month is a small resealable bag of soil to remind children that God made all people from the dirt of the ground. Continue to add treasures to the Treasure Box throughout the year. From time to time, bring them out to review the different stories.

One age-appropriate Bible verse is introduced each month.
his Bible verse is reviewed in each lesson in a different manner. Review helps the Bible verse to be instilled in the children's hearts and minds.

Ideas for four art activities are provided for each child every month. These creative projects/props support the lesson concept, the Bible story, and the Bible verse.

A Bible storybook is referenced each month. Each suggested book supports the lesson. Books may retell the Bible story or offer a related story.

Each lesson offers a variety of fun activities. These include games, recipes, dramatic play, songs, and many more ways to build understanding of the Bible lesson and apply its principles to children's lives.

We provide two Enrichment Practice Pages each month. One is an activity reinforcing skills through the Bible story. The other is a rebus story of the Bible lesson for the children to color and take home.

Each lesson concludes with a prayer. Closing each day with prayer teaches the children the reasons and different ways we may talk to God. Invite the children to include special prayer requests they may have for the day.

We also offer a copy of a Family Newsletter for you to send home with each child to inform their families about the Bible stories. Songs and additional activities for parents to do with their children at home add reinforcement to the Bible story (see Resources).

May the Lord bless your efforts teaching and sharing God's Word!
