You Will Need:

Meet a new puppet friend—Dutch the Dog.

Hold up the Dog Theme Puppet and introduce Dutch the Dog to the children. Dutch the Dog loves to be a nice, helpful dog. He especially loves to help police officers and firefighters.

Encourage each child to say hello to the Dutch. Some may want to wave, others may say hello and tell him their name. Tell Dutch the names of the children who are not speaking or are feeling shy.
Sing the song below.

Dutch the Dog
Sung to "I'm a Little Teapot"

Dutch is a dog, he loves to run and play.
He's here to play with us all day.
He likes to keep us safe and is always on the call.
He wants to be a friend to us all.

Dutch can tell the children that he is so excited to learn about ways to stay safe and the people who help us.

Older Toddlers: Encourage older children to tell Dutch some people that help to keep them safe. They may come up with mommies, daddies, grandparents, teachers, police officers, doctors, firefighters, or other people.
