  • Silly Topic/Spanish Card (see Resources)

Family Participation: Ask for family volunteers to come and help decorate children's faces for the Funny Face Paint activity (see Related Activity).

Things to Talk About:
Introduce the new theme. This theme is all about being wacky! Print the Silly Topic/Spanish Card (see Resources), and show it to the children. Ask, "What is the girl in the picture doing?" Explain that she is acting silly. Silly is another word for wacky. Introduce the Spanish word for silly, tonto (TOHN-toh). Invite children to make a silly face. Many of the upcoming activities this theme will allow children to show their silly, wacky sides!

Things to Do: Plan a series of wacky days during this theme. Examples include Silly Socks Day, Inside-Out Day, Wacky Hat Day, and Mismatched Day.
