Theme Assessments
Theme Assessments are directly linked to all goals and objectives taught in each theme. You can use the Theme Assessment tool to assess goals and objectives in a theme, or during a span of time. You may also choose to generate assessments over time based on one or more domains.

Each Theme Assessment provides a space to add a child's name and age. However, you must download and store the completed assessment for each child as the FunShine Online database will not permanently store this information.

To generate a theme assessment:
  • click My Account at the top of the screen
  • under Reporting Tools, click Assessment Form
  • choose the date range for your assessment by clicking the calendar icons and selecting beginning and ending dates
  • select the age range (0-36 months or 3-5 years)
  • check the box(es) beside the domains you would like to appear in the theme assessment
  • click Report
This is the long form of the report. Each goal/objective that appears in the time span you set will appear in the form, as well as the name of the activity (activities) where the objective is taught.

To complete the theme assessment:
  • enter the child's name and age
  • scroll and select one of the four indicators under each goal to show whether a child demonstrates mastery
  • you may wish to add notes under some or all of the goals and objectives to share specific behaviors
  • continue scrolling until all goals and objectives have been addressed
Once the form is complete, scroll back to the top of the page. You may choose whether to save/print the Full Form or Short Form. The Full Form contains all of the information you see here (objective code, objective definition, activity titles where objective was used) and can be lengthy. The Short Form is a condensed version.

When you click the Full or Short Form button, you may opt to save the assessment. We suggest saving each assessment you generate to help you in future lesson planning and to mark progress over time. Store these assessments in a digital portfolio for each child.
